What is Hawk Talk
Hawk Talk is a place to come to be spiritually fed and built up in Christ.  A place of fresh manna from heaven.  A now Word for what the Lord is speaking in this hour.

Why do we use the term "Hawk"?  We believe from scripture that the Lord is raising up a bride without spot or wrinkle.  A bride and church that will walk in the fullness of the stature of Christ.  (Ephesians 4:13, 5:27).  To do this, Jesus left the church gifts, or offices.  These offices being the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher.  (Ephesians 4:8-12).  The Lord Jesus Christ has been restoring these offices back into the church, especially the offices of the apostle and prophet.  The pastor, evangelist and teacher have basically always been functioning to some degree.  The prophetic office began to be restored during the 1980's, and the apostolic more in the mid 1990's.  All five offices are vital to bring the church into her fullness.

We, at The Dwelling Place International, have been given by the Lord Jesus Christ, an apostolic mantle to prepare His church to walk and live a triumphant life, demonstrating His love, passion and power for the purpose of fulfilling His Great Commission.  (Matthew 28:18-20).

The hawk is a representation of the apostolic office.  Just as the eagle is compared  to the prophetic.  No, we are not birds, but these offices carry these qualities and characteristics.  Just as Jesus is likened unto a rock, is He a rock?  No.  The characteristics of that rock are like Christ, solid.  The Holy Spirit is represented like a river. (John 7:37-39).  Is the Holy Spirit a river?  No.  He has the characteristics of the river.

Isaiah 46:11 says, "calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country. Yes I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass, I have purposed it.  I will also do it."    We know that in the context of this verse the Lord was talking about Cyrus who would restore Jerusalem.  Cyrus was likened unto a ravenous bird.  The word "ravenous bird" in the Hebrew, is found in Strong's #5861 meaning a hawk or bird of prey.  From Strong's #5860, it means, to swoop down upon.  The hawk is a war bird.  A bird of prey, not fearful.  One who knows how to swoop down upon its prey with skill and precision.  A hawk is known as a Raptor.  The word "Raptor" comes from the Latin word for plunderer, stemming from raptare, "to seize and carry away."  Raptors have strong legs and the most powerful feet of any bird.  Armed with sharp curved talons, together with their hooked beaks, are able to rend flesh.  Their eyesight is eight times more powerful than humans, giving them precision sight, with full color vision.  Their eyes have double eyelids enabling them to look directly into the sunlight. Their power of flight is most majestic of all birds.  Another quality of the hawk, is that they work as a team in hunting their prey.  Five or six may flush out their prey while the others are watching and waiting to swoop down and crush their prey.

The apostolic office and grace is a powerful grace.  One that does not fear.  One that works with others for the common good of all.  One that knows his weapons and knows how to use them for good, not evil.  Like the hawk, the apostle is a leader, a commander, a general.  The word "Apostle" in Ephesians 4 is found in Strong's #652, apostolos, a delegate an ambassador of the Gospel, a sent one.  The apostolic office is an office of officiating or executing God's purposes.  The Greek word, "Strateuomai," in Strong's #4754, means to serve in a military campaign, to execute the apostolate with its ardous duties and functions, a soldier, warfare.  Also Strong's #4755, "stategos" meaning a general, a military governor.  This apostolic office is a gift, a grace, a spiritual endowment given by Jesus Himself to those He has called to train and equip His church.  You can't appoint yourself as an apostle, only Jesus can call, appoint, and equip.  The prophet's prophesy the word,  while the apostles have the anointing to execute that word with authority and power.

As Isaiah prophesied the restoration of Jerusalem under the office of the prophet, Cyrus, with an apostolic office (mandate) executed out Isaiah's prophetic words, thus fulfilling scripture.  Cyrus had the authority to execute that word.  Jesus said in John 4:34, "My meat is to do the will of Him who SENT (Apostolic) Me and to finish His work."  Jesus had the anointing and grace to execute the plan of God and finish His work.  The true apostolic is a finishing anointing to get the job done.  Though the apostolic is an executing office, a General and Commander, this office is rooted and grounded in love, faithfulness, and servanthood.  The true apostle is not a master, but a servant, with a heart of love. Jesus is our example of that.  Not one who is an authoritarian, but meek and humble.   They know how to execute and command an army, but they also know how to nurture, love and serve.
